NX Student Version: The Short Version
The NX student version in 2026 is Designcenter Student Edition, a free Siemens download of Designcenter CAD and NX CAM for Windows 64-bit. The June 2026 build is what you get. Sign up on Siemens’ trial page, install Siemens Software Center, download from there. inteliScience will not point you at a torrent. One-year license, then a new account.

The Problem: “Student Version Download” Is a Malware Query
Siemens NX student version download is a magnet for cracked installers. Those packages steal credentials and still will not open a shop part from Teamcenter.
Siemens publishes the real path. Use it.
Designcenter Student Edition is the current name. NX CAD was renamed Designcenter in the June 2026 commercial release. The Student build follows a few weeks later. Siemens’ academic pages say the current Student download is the June 2026 CAD/CAM set.
We advise against any site that is not siemens.com or Siemens Software Center. If a blog hosts an ISO, close it.
Official download path (July 2026 onward)
Siemens moved Student off Support Center onto Siemens Software Center (SSC) from July 2026.
- Create a Siemens ID. You must be 15 or older.
- Sign up on the official Designcenter Student Edition trial page.
- Install Siemens Software Center.
- Stay logged into SSC with the same account. Download and launch Student Edition from SSC every time.
Siemens’ August 2026 Student blog is blunt: individuals, students, educators, and lifelong learners can sign up. You do not need to verify student status. You must be 15 or older. Windows 64-bit only.
New Student builds track June and December commercial releases, about two to four weeks behind. Update inside SSC. Do not hunt old NX 12 student ISOs.

Student includes CAD, assemblies, drawings, a CAM suite, and some CAE. Enough for a first-part tutorial.
Siemens’ trial page is the rulebook: printed and plotted output is watermarked. Part files created in Student Edition cannot be retrieved in a commercial Designcenter seat. CAM data is not available for post-processing, and toolpath display has limited precision. Treat Student as school. Rebuild under a commercial license when the part is real.
Universities that need named-user Designcenter X Academic (tokens, Teamcenter Share) are on a different SKU. That is the educator program, not the free Student Edition.
This runs as a POC. What’s missing for production: A commercial license, templates, Teamcenter, and someone who owns the part. Student is school. NX training is the shop.

- Siemens Software Center. Not a forum attachment.
- June 2026 (or the current following December) in the Student package name.
- Windows 64-bit. No official Mac Student.

Is Designcenter Student Edition really free?
Yes, from Siemens, for qualifying users 15+, Windows 64-bit, one-year license. No student-status check for this edition, per Siemens’ 2026 Student blog. Cracked copies are not “free.” They are malware.
Does the student version include NX CAM and FEM?
CAD and a CAM suite, yes, some CAE. Siemens says CAM data is not available for post-processing. Enough to follow a tutorial. Not a shop post, not a stress report.
How much is NX after the student year?
A commercial or academic seat from Siemens or a partner. We do not publish list prices. Student is not a loophole for production work.
Can I use Student Edition at work?
Read Siemens’ license. It is an academic/learner product. Production IP on Student is how companies get ugly conversations with vendors. Use a commercial seat.
