Who the Playbook Is For
The playbook is written for the people who have to sign off CAD data, not for the people who sell tools. CAD managers who own the NX template and the guideline. Methods and quality engineers who write the rules and get the rework tickets. NX administrators who run Check-Mate profiles or evaluate a quality product. Engineering IT that has to wire check results into a Teamcenter release. If your organization is preparing a migration to Siemens NX, chapter 13 is the acceptance-criteria section your project plan is missing.

- Conclusion
Chapters 6 to 13 are the technical core: for each quality area the playbook lists the rules that can be executed, how the checks are typically implemented, what a batch baseline over an existing vault reveals, and which findings can be corrected automatically. Chapters 14 to 16 compare Siemens NX Check-Mate with dedicated quality management, describe DOCUFY CAx Quality Manager from official DOCUFY sources, and explain where Vision4NX technology from inteliScience fits. Chapters 17 to 19 are the operational part: how to start, and two checklists you can take into a meeting.
Three Things the Playbook Insists On
Rules before tools. A rule that exists only in a PDF is a wish. The playbook’s method converts every guideline rule into an executable condition with scope, severity and owner before any check is configured, in Check-Mate or in DQM.
Baseline before gate. Run the checks in batch over the existing vault, publish the failure rates, fix the rules that turn out to be unrealistic, and only then make the check a release condition in Teamcenter.
Deterministic checks, human judgement. Automated validation enforces what can be written down: geometry integrity, structure, naming, layers, attributes, PMI completeness, drawing templates. It does not decide a datum strategy or a tolerance. The playbook is explicit about that boundary, and about what healing can and cannot correct.
Sources and Method
The playbook uses official Siemens sources for Check-Mate, HD3D Visual Reporting and NX data translation, and official DOCUFY sources for DOCUFY CAx Quality Manager, including the DQM 2026.1 release notes of 30 March 2026. Product capabilities that could not be verified in official sources were left out. Engineering practice comes from inteliScience projects in Siemens NX, NX Open and Teamcenter for machinery, automotive supply and aerospace organizations in DACH and Europe. No customer numbers, error rates or ROI figures are invented; where the playbook gives orders of magnitude, it says so.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Siemens NX CAD Quality Playbook?
A free 20-chapter technical whitepaper by inteliScience on automating model validation, enforcing design standards and improving CAD data quality in Siemens NX. It covers the quality areas, quality gates, batch validation, healing and migration, and compares Check-Mate with dedicated quality management such as DOCUFY CAx Quality Manager.
Is the playbook a DOCUFY sales brochure?
No. Roughly 80 percent of the content is educational and vendor-neutral engineering practice; the DOCUFY and inteliScience chapters are clearly separated and based on official DOCUFY sources only. Check-Mate is treated as a legitimate route, and the playbook says when it is sufficient.
Do I need to register to download it?
No. The PDF is a direct download in English, German and Romanian. If you want to discuss your own rule catalogue afterwards, our NX team is one message away.
Which Siemens NX versions does the playbook apply to?
The engineering practice applies to current NX and Designcenter releases. Product facts are dated: Check-Mate facts come from Siemens’ current product documentation, DQM facts from DOCUFY’s 2026.1 release, which supports NX up to NX 2512.
How much does automated CAD quality checking cost?
Check-Mate ships with NX in many licence configurations; the cost is building and maintaining profiles and custom checkers. DOCUFY offers a 90-day DQM evaluation package for company-wide use with customizing and consultant support at €2,950 plus VAT for the DACH region. The playbook’s chapter 19 gives an evaluation checklist to size the implementation.
